Tastykake Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Tastykake is a line of snack foods manufactured by the Tasty Baking Company, currently headquartered at the Philadelphia Navy Yard (formerly the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1914 by Philip J. Baur and Herbert T. Morris and originally selling its product only in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, the company now distributes its products in several states on the East Coast, south to Florida, and has been gradually expanding across the United States.

A customer they lost talks about their products in a review "Living off it's past reputation. Really sad how this company has changed ( for the worst )since changing ownership. As a kid who grew up in Philadelphia, I lived off of Tastykakes, but these cakes aren't even close to what I remember. Pies have less filling and taste completely different (probably cheaper ingredients)."

"Seeing no place to review a product online at the Meijer site I searched the web for other places to leave this info. Coffee drinkers need to know how poor your new Columbian K pods (white label) are...extremely weak compared to old style you previously sold. Even a 6 oz cup is weak for a medium roast coffee. Going with sam's club organic exclusively now which was our other favorite. Seriously Meijer, you need to quality check those new pods. Bring back the old orange label pods!"

"This morning I went to the Meijers at 3320 Westshore Drive, Holland MI, and was very disappointed and concerned the many of the employees there are not complying with the requirements that they properly wear face masks. Several of them were wearing them down around their chin, while others had them pulled down below their nose. When confronting them about it, their attitude was basically 'so what'. One even said 'doesn't matter, they don't work anyway'. Of those that adjusted their masks properly, I proceeded down the isle until I was out of sight, waited a minute, then went back, and observed that they had pulled their mask down again, and were laughing with other workers about it. At the checkout I asked to speak with a manager. When he showed up I explained the situation to him, and he seemed much more concerned with defending his workers, and showed no concern for the safety of the customers. His lack of concern that his workers were putting the customers at risk was even more concerning than the workers attitudes, and may explain why the problem exists there. I will be looking for a store that does take the mask requirements seriously."

"Meijer has hired Shipt to handle its pickup system and it is a terrible idea. Shipt is a terrible company that does not do anything promised and Meijer continues to enable that contractor to abuse its customers. Now to be referred to as former customers. Bad move, Meijer."

"They dont show the nutritional value on their products on their website. seriously? is that even legal? makes you wonder why. i dont see this being anything but SHADY, ..they even stopped showing the back of products. so there's no way to know."

"It\'s not just you! You probably came here because you can\'t understand how something you loved as a kid tastes so bad now and that you must be looking back on these treats with rose colored glasses. You\'re not. Completely different products than when we were kids and the new owners are trading on the reputation that they are burning to the ground. Anything with a cake component is dry and chalky. The only thing I\'ve surmised is that the chocolate coatings are scaled down while cheaper components are increased or added to make up the weights. This is most noticeable on things like the Peanut Butter KandyKakes where the peanut butter is globbed on top so thick it makes an imprint on the barely there chocolate coating that sometimes doesn\'t even cover the whole cake, which is like like a dry sponge.
